ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship·30.8.2021

Live stream on Tuesday evening: Round #5 of the eSports Championship

The ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+ enters the second half of the 2021 season at the DEKRA Lausitzring on Tuesday evening. Just ten days before the drivers in the real ADAC GT Masters put pedal to the metal in Klettwitz, Europe’s fastest sim racers will do battle for valuable championship points in two virtual races.

Reigning champion Moritz Löhner has impressed with some solid results in the first four events and travels to the virtual Lausitzring as the championship leader at the halfway point of the season. Williams Esports drivers Jack Keithley and Jakub Brzezinki, who lie second and third in the overall standings, are lurking within striking distance and waiting for their chance to dethrone the reigning champion.

The support programme features the next round of the ADAC GT4 eSports Championship. Emre Cihan (Team Fordzilla) has won all four races so far in the GT4 championship, and once again comes into the event as the clear favourite. His fierce rivals Alessandro Ottaviani (Virtualdrivers By TX3), Julian Kunze (EURONICS Gaming), Adam Pinczes (Arnage Competition) and Jonas Wanner (T3 eSports) will again be doing everything in their power to end the Turkish sim racer’s winning streak.

The 4570-metre Lausitzring is one of the few circuits that are driven in an anti-clockwise direction. The many slow and narrow corners demand great skill from the drivers when overtaking. This makes a good qualifying particularly important at the Lausitzring. The best area of the track to launch an overtaking manoeuvre is the end of the start/finish straight.

As well as the regular starters, the following guest drivers will also line up at the Lausitzring, having qualified in advance:

• Victor Prim • Ville Kreivi • Pedro Crulas Gomes • Christopher Röhner • Jesus Huerta

Round five of the eSports Championship will be broadcast in livestream from 19:15 on Tuesday at youtube.com/adac. It will be presented by Tobi Schimon, with commentary from Patrick Simon and Thomas Bienert.
