British opener: The ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW Mobility+ kicks off the 2022 season on Tuesday 15th February at the virtual Brands Hatch. The prize purse of € 70,000, a compact format and the 32-man field promise to produce an eventful start to the season and some thrilling eSports action. The live event is being streamed from 19:15 on Tuesday evening at youtube.de/adac, adac.de/motorsport and on the ADAC GT Masters Facebook page.

Top favourite coming into the new season is last year’s winner and three-time champion Moritz Löhner (Dörr Esports), closely followed by his Dörr Esports team-mate Bence Bánki and 2021 runner-up Jakub Brzezinski (Williams Esports). The competition in the field will again be strong in the 2022 season: in Emre Cihan (Team Fordzilla), the ADAC GT4 eSports champion, who went undefeated in 2021, starts in the GT3 class. Jack Keithley (Williams Esports) and Isaac Price (privateer) impressed with some top results last season, and are waiting for their chance to oust Moritz Löhner from the throne.

As well as new circuits, the more compact race format should also create excitement. The sim racers will contest a 10-minute qualifying session to determine the grid for the subsequent 15-minute sprint race on the 3.908-kilometre GP variant of the British circuit. Unlike last season, the drivers will no longer start race two from a reverse grid formation. Instead, there will be a second ten-minute qualifying. In the 30-minute main race, all competitors must complete a mandatory pit stop.
