The Nürburgring hosts the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship. Four race wins make Christopher Högfeldt the favourite as season reaches the halfway point.
Who will lead going into the second half of the eSports season? The ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+, which boasts a prize purse of € 70,000, heads to the Nürburgring on Tuesday 15th March for round three of the 2022 season. Esports fans can once again look forward to thrilling motorsport action and spectacular battles. Presenters Tobias Schimon and Thomas Bienert will report live from the studio, ably assisted by GT4 driver Patricija Stalidzane.
Christopher Högfeldt from the Virtualdrivers by TX3 team is in prime position to end the first half of the season at the top of the table. Following a post-race penalty handed to Jack Keithley in Watkins Glen, the Swede has enjoyed a perfect start to the season: with four wins from four races, he leads the championship with 160 points. Behind him, with 111 and 100 points respectively, Bence Bánki (Dörr Esports – Ascher Racing) and Erhan Jajovski (Williams X R8G) are poised and ready to take any opportunity to close the gap on Högfeldt.
As in Watkins Glen, the sim racers will contest a ten-minute qualifying session before the 15-minute sprint race. After race one, another qualifying session will determine the grid positions for the 30-minute main race. As well as the 28 permanent competitors, each event will also feature four guest starters, who qualify in advance via the “Community Monday Race” on RaceRoom.
The halfway event in this season’s ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+ will be streamed live from 19:15 on Tuesday evening at youtube.de/adac, adac.de/motorsport and on the ADAC GT Masters Facebook page. You can find the stream here: https://youtu.be/xaiqngjXY1c
