ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship·18.4.2022

Live from 19.15: Who will win the 2022 ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship?

Live on Tuesday evening: Season finale in Monza. Title race to be decided between Christopher Högfeldt and Bence Bánki. Livestream on the ADAC YouTube channel.

Showdown in the ADAC GT Masters eSports Championship powered by EnBW mobility+: The successor to three-time champion Moritz Löhner (Dörr Esports) will be decided on the evening of Tuesday 19th April, at the virtual Monza circuit. The men with the biggest chance of claiming the coveted Drivers title coming into the final event of the season are championship leader Christopher Högfeldt (Virtualdrivers by TX3) and his closest rival Bence Bánki (Dörr Esports). Högfeldt tops the table with 301 points, 23 clear of Bánki. Jack Keithley (Williams Esports, 227 points) still has a mathematical chance of clinching the title. The event will be streamed live from 19:15 on Tuesday at youtube.com/adac and adac.de/motorsport, as well as on the ADAC GT Masters Facebook page.

Högfeldt made his title ambitions clear from the word go, winning the first four races of the season. He did then briefly surrender the championship lead to Bánki in Zandvoort, at the fourth of this season’s six events, but reclaimed the top spot last time out in Silverstone. However, the Swede remains a little anxious ahead of the finale, as his BMW did not entirely impress during tests at the virtual Monza circuit. For three-time champion Löhner, it was clear early on in the season that he would not be having a say in this year’s title race. In opting for the McLaren, the reigning champion chose the wrong car this season.

Monza is regarded as one of the last high-speed circuits – the long straights mean that a high percentage of the circuit is taken at full throttle. The key to a successful qualifying here is to find a good slipstream. The evening of racing kicks off with a ten-minute qualifying to determine the grid positions for the subsequent 15-minute sprint. This is followed by another ten-minute qualifying session. In the 30-minute main race, every participant must complete a mandatory pit stop.

Presenters Thomas Bienert and Tobias Schimon will be live in the studio to guide viewers through the action. This way to the live stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHhv41N6Pfo.
