ADAC Formula 4 to take place during DTM weekend: A high-profile stage

The DTM touring car series will host ADAC Formula 4 during its 2015 debut season. The newly established ADAC single seater series for juniors will stage the seventh of eight race weekends at the etropolis Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from September 11th to 13th, 2015. The season opener of the ADAC Formula 4 will also take place at Oschersleben (April 24th-26th).

"The work done by the ADAC to assist juniors in single-seater motor racing is exemplary. This new ADAC Formula 4 series will also produce more terrifically talented drivers, and so, we are pleased to provide a high-profile stage at the DTM fixture in Oschersleben for these youngsters," said ITR Chairman Hans Werner Aufrecht with reference to the ADAC's youth development programme that has enjoyed a great deal of success over many years.

"We are very pleased that ADAC Formula 4 will feature as part of the DTM this year," said ADAC Director Motorsport and Classic Lars Soutschka. "The DTM and the ADAC GT Masters can hardly be bettered as settings for the debut season of our junior open-wheel series. Spectators can look forward to exciting racing and a terrific field of competitors. The response of teams and drivers to the new ADAC Formula 4 has exceeded even our expectations."

Apart from guesting at the DTM, the high-speed school for juniors will stage seven race weekends within the context of the ADAC GT Masters. This year, ADAC Formula 4 will line up four times with the Super Sports Car League at German racetracks: at the Lausitzring (July 3rd-5th), Nürburgring (August 14th-16th), Sachsenring (August 28th-30th) and in Hockenheim (October 2nd-4th). The junior series will contest its races at current Formula 1 circuits outside of Germany's borders twice during 2015 alongside the ADAC GT Masters: at the Red Bull Ring in Austria (June 5th-7th) and at Spa Francorchamps (June 19th-21st). SPORT1+ will broadcast fixtures live on TV.

For many years, the ADAC single-seater development programme for juniors has been a stepping stone for future motor racing stars. In the past, Formula 1 drivers such as four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, Nico Hülkenberg, Nico Rosberg and Ralf Schumacher and DTM stars like Martin Tomczyk, Pascal Wehrlein and Timo Glock all started their careers in ADAC single-seater junior series.
