Janneau Esmeijer (18, NED, HTP Juniorteam), Pole for Races 1 and 2: "This double pole is fantastic. I like the Nürburgring a lot, and my team have worked really hard. At the start of qualifying, we drove quite tactically and tried a few things out. That paid off in the end. In the season opener at Oschersleben, I started from the front but had some bad luck in the races themselves. On the following weekend, things didn't go at all well, and both the team and I needed to improve. So to have come back now with this result is incredible, and it goes to show the progress we have made. I'll be giving 110 percent to convert these poles into victories. Starting just in front of my team-mate Marvin should make for some exciting race action."
Joey Mawson (19, AUS, Van Amersfoort Racing): "The balance on our car was not so good, unfortunately. We tried everything, but I didn't feel at all at ease in the car. We still don't know what went wrong. We will now have to analyse everything carefully and find a solution, for sure! The plan on Saturday is to place tenth in the first race, which would give me pole position in the third race. We need to score points here in order to limit the damage."
Joel Eriksson (17, SWE, Motopark): "We had a technical problem in the first session and there was another incident before the start of the second session. Ultimately, I had to compete in qualifying without having posted a lap. Obviously, I was at a disadvantage compared to my competitors, so I'm very satisfied with my qualifying result. I'm now really looking forward to the races and would like to go on a charge like I did at the Lausitzring and overtake lots of cars."
Michelle Halder (16, GER, Michelle Halder): "My quali was very good. I improved with every session. We had a few small difficulties in the second session which we sorted out. I was very optimistic in qualifying and the lap times were promising. Unfortunately, luck was not on our side, and I was in the slower group."
Marek Böckmann (18, GER, Jenzer Motorsport): "I'm quite satisfied with today's performance. I finished ninth in both practice sessions and figured that my chances of a top-ten qualifying result were good. The car is not quite perfect yet, but we've made some improvements. Fourth place in my qualifying group was my best ever result in the ADAC Formula 4. This is a good grid position. I wouldn't mind either if it rained during the race."
Jannes Fittje (16, GER, Motopark): "My lap times were okay in practice, so I had high hopes of a good qualifying. It's a pity, but we didn't quite get down to business. Now, unfortunately, I have to start the races from way down the field. Still, if the car runs well, I figure I've a chance of a top-ten finish. So, it's all-out on the attack now! "
Marvin Dienst (18, GER, HTP Junior Team): "Unfortunately, I had to line up in Group 1. The traffic out on track gave me a bit of trouble, and I was out on my fastest laps at the wrong times. I posted two pretty similar lap times, which shows that a bit more might have been on the cards. Still, I'm on the front row in two races from where a lot is possible. I know that my team-mate Janneau is fast. The races are bound to be exciting."
Luca Engstler (15, GER, Engstler Motorsport): "Qualifying went quite well, we consistently improved our lap times. In any case, I'll attack in the races. I'm usually a bit faster in race trim than in qualifying and so, could in fact move up a few places. That's why I'm looking forward to the three races at the Nürburgring."
Glenn Rupp (16, GER, RS Competition): "I'm not satisfied with my result and can't really understand it. We were around a second quicker with the same car and the same setup during testing at this track. The times were not there in qualifying, unfortunately. We're now analysing the reasons behind it and hope the races go well."
