Marvin Dienst (18, GER, HTP Juniorteam), Pole Race 1 & 2: "After two difficult race weekends, we're once again showing what the car and I are capable of. I'm especially happy for my team. The Lausitzring plays to the strengths of our car, but qualifying was by no means easy. Because of the hot weather, it was clear to me that the tyres would deliver a perfect performance for two laps, after which they would degrade very quickly. I was on my fastest lap and was already four tenths faster than the previous best time when the session was interrupted for red flags. I couldn't believe it at first, and I was quite frustrated at having to abort the lap. Fortunately, I managed to get the tyres up to temperature again after the restart and went on to claim the double pole."
Janneau Esmeijer (18, NED, HTP Juniorteam): "I finished second in my group. I can be very happy with this result, even though I know that there's still potential for improvement. I start both races on Saturday from the second row and hope that we can manage the tyres a bit better next time to get a good result. My team-mate Marvin posted a super lap time in qualifying. That gives me the chance to make comparisons and learn a lot from him."
Jannes Fittje (15, GER, Motopark): "I can be pleased with my result, although more should have been possible. I got a little confused by the red flags. I had just one hot lap left to post on the re-start, which didn't quite come off, unfortunately. A definite improvement can be seen compared to previous races. I'm now aiming for top ten results."
Mike Ortmann (15, GER, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport): "My quali was really good. We had some minor difficulties in practice, as our pace was not brilliant. However, the changes made for the afternoon worked, and I was able to secure fourth place in my group. It's really nice that I'll be in a good grid position for my home race. There'll be lots of friends, fans and sponsors at the races, and I want to produce a super result for them, obviously."
Jan Jonck (16, DNK, RS Competition): "Qualifying was a bit chaotic, but I'm absolutely delighted with my grid position. We're struggling a bit with oversteer in the fast turns, so the first sector is quite tough for us. With all that in mind, I'm satisfied with my times and grid position for the races. Hopefully, we can finish in the points here."
David Kolkmann (18, GER, Jenzer Motorsport): "We made a few more changes to the car between practice and qualifying that worked well. I was posting my fastest lap when the quali was stopped. I'd already improved by three tenths of a second but then had to abort the lap, unfortunately. I couldn't find my rhythm after the re-start, so I'm not completely satisfied with my result."
Moritz Müller-Crepon (18, CHE, Jenzer Motorsport): "I was very pleased with my qualifying - until the session was red-flagged. After that, I could no longer found my rhythm, my progress was impeded and so, was unable to improve my time. It's a pity, because a great deal more would have been possible, had everything come together properly."
Kim Luis Schramm (17, GER, Neuhauser Racing): "The times in my group were quite tightly bunched. If I'd gone two tenths faster, that would have put me three or four places further up the grid. It's not a bad result. It's just a bit disappointing that our group was so tight, while the other one was much more spread out."
Job van Uitert (16, NED, Provily Racing): "Today was the first time I've ever driven a practice session at the Lausitzring, so in the circumstances, I'm well satisfied with my qualifying result. Especially compared to the Red Bull Ring where I had already had one whole day of testing but still couldn't manage to qualify any further forward than 18th. The progress is clearly visible. I'm feeling very confident of a Top-15 finish in the first race."
Michelle Halder (15, GER, Engstler Motorsport): "This was my first ever outing at the Lausitzring, so I'm all the more satisfied with my qualifying result. We adjusted the brake balance ahead of the session, and that worked well. With the temperature being so high, we assumed that the times weren't going to come down any further. So we were quite surprised when I managed to improve on my lap time after all. I'm now looking forward to the race with plenty of optimism."
