Joel Eriksson (17, SWE, Motopark): "My start was pretty good. I immediately got past some cars on the first corner. With the middle of the field being so tightly bunched, it was important to keep a cool head and avoid a collision. I overtook one car after another and finished in ninth place. In the end, it was lucky for me that Joey Mawson didn't win the race. So I'm pleased to be going into the summer break as half-time champion."
Jason Kremer (20, GER, Team Timo Scheider): "On the formation lap, I became aware of a problem with the engine of my car. On the grid, I restarted the engine, reached the limiter and let out the clutch. Unfortunately, the emergency mode kicked in and I had to crawl back to the pits. That was very disappointing. I had been expecting so much more from pole position. I was convinced that I was going to make it into the Top Three; later in the race, my pace was super."
Cedric Piro (17, GER, Piro Sports): "I got off to a good start and took the lead. This was followed by a safety car deployment, and unfortunately I made a mistake under the restart. I lost a few places and finished back in twelfth. That was really disappointing, because I'd had my sights set on a top result."
Benjamin Mazatis (17, GER, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport): "My start was good, but then there was a collision right in front of me. I had to avoid it by going to the outside and hugging the wall. Unfortunately, this allowed several other cars to go past on the inside. I had excellent speed which enabled me to close the gap again. Then there was a contact which left me with a slow puncture, and I was unable to control the car properly."
Michael Waldherr (18, GER, Motopark): "It would have been nice to set a new record in terms of positions gained, but things got a bit difficult. My start was very good, but after a while the tyre degradation made itself noticeable. Fortunately, the safety car phase helped me to immediately gain three positions. Considering the unfavourable starting situation, I'm absolutely satisfied with seventh place. It was actually more than I had thought possible. Together, Joel and I have achieved the maximum manageable for Motopark."
Carrie Schreiner (16, GER, HTP Juniorteam): "On the whole, I can feel happy with my weekend. I had a very good start today and was already battling for a Top 15 spot on the first lap. Unfortunately, though, another car drove into me, causing damage to the right rear wheel and a broken suspension, which meant I had to pit. I rejoined the race a long way behind. But I quickly realised that something was wrong with the car. Still, I'm glad that I'm getting on better terms with the car and that I'm able to hold my own with the lads. But of course, I'm still a long way off where I want to be. I now need to practise even harder so that I come back stronger at the Nürburgring."
Marek Böckmann (18, GER, Jenzer Motorsport): "From P18, I got off to a good start and steered clear of all the mayhem on the first corner. On the first few laps, I was making good progress forward, but I eventually had to avoid an incident by coming off the track, which cost me a position. Towards the end of the race, I was fighting in a group of five and had to defend hard against Joel Eriksson. I managed really well and I preserved my eighth place to the finish. A nice way to round off a difficult weekend."
Robin Brezina (16, GER, Robin Brezina): "Unfortunately, I was excluded from the first race after qualifying. Since the result of that race determines the grid for Race 3, I had to start from the back. I was able to make good a few positions at the start, but the safety car deployments meant that there wasn't much more scope for improvement. That was the most difficult race weekend of my ADAC Formula 4 career."
