Who is your role model in motorsport?
That would be Jan Magnussen. The connection came about through my father. I was lucky enough to go to Le Mans on nine occasions and to watch his races at close quarters in the garage. He inspired me to take up racing myself. He is the driver I still look up to today.
Do you have any rituals going into a race weekend?
One thing is very important to me: I only get into my car from the right-hand side. That might sound weird, but it's just something I've got accustomed to. Apart from that, I try to do 15 minutes of relaxation before each session, going through everything once again in my head and generally getting mentally prepared. I look for a cool and shady spot where I can consider my tactics.
What made you decide to enter ADAC Formula 4?
After finishing as runner-up in the Danish Formula Ford championship, I was looking for a new challenge. Right from the start, there has been great interest surrounding the series, and the challenge seemed perfect. I wanted to be up against stiffer competition to advance my development as a driver, and that's exactly what I've found here. My team manager Robert Schlünssen, who I already know very well from the past, was likewise convinced by ADAC Formula 4, and that's how the decision came about.
ADAC Formula 4 gives drivers the opportunity to compete in three races on a single weekend. How important is it for a young driver to accumulate the track mileage?
Very important! Test days are always a little unpredictable. Sometimes we drivers get a lot of time in the car; other times it's more about working in the background. So it's all the better to gain experience by competing in multiple races in one weekend. It means that we always get a second chance: we can learn directly from our mistakes and put these lessons into practice just a few hours later in the next race.
