Who is your role model in motorsport?
Ayrton Senna, for sure! In my opinion, racing was proper racing in his days. He was really given a hard time in some quarters and never minced his words to the press or to other drivers. These character traits impress me. He also took the classic career route from karting to single-seater racing and to the top echelons of the sport later on.
What rituals do you follow on a race weekend?
Rituals are absolutely not my thing. I just do what comes to mind and don´t let myself get ruffled. I close my visor and go around the track once more in my mind before I go out. But one thing is definitely part of what I do. I shower in the morning in order to feel really fresh. That´s a ritual, if you like.
Why did you decide to enter ADAC Formula 4?
We decided at a relatively late stage to enter the ADAC Formula 4. A good friend, who is also active in motor racing, pointed us in this direction. Today, I can truthfully say that it was absolutely the right decision. The starting field is large, and we are all as strong as one another. That´s very important to me, because only through strong competition I can improve and learn a lot for the future.
ADAC Formula 4 gives drivers the opportunity to compete in three races on a single weekend. How important is it for a young driver to accumulate the track mileage?
So far, I´ve not posted as many test kilometres as some other drivers, so it´s all the more important to contest plenty of races and to rack up the kilometres. Small mistakes or not having a setup that is quite perfect don´t matter too much. If something´s not right, then we can change it for the next race and don´t have to immediately write off all of the weekend´s results.
