ADAC Formel 4·16.11.2015

Jonathan Cecotto's season: Clear target for the future: I need to be more consistent

What was your personal highlight of 2015?

In fact, the whole season was a highlight, because it was my first year driving a single-seater open-wheel car. I was very excited about making the step up from karting to a higher level. The first half of the season was highly satisfactory, because I managed to score some points. The final four race weekends didn't go quite so well for me.

What goals did you set yourself before the start of the season, and would you say in retrospect that you attained them?

The most important thing is to learn a lot and accumulate experience. And in that respect, I've had a successful year. However, I was also intent on getting good results. I didn't achieve this target, especially in the second half of the season.

What did you learn as far as driving goes from taking part in the ADAC Formula 4, and where will we be seeing you in 2016?

I started from zero. I've acquired a good deal of basic knowledge and learnt that you have to bring it all together. Sometimes, qualifying didn't go very well but I was fast in the race itself, and sometimes it was the other way around. I need to be more consistent. It's hard to say what I'll be doing in 2016. I may switch to another racing series, but that won't be decided until some time during the winter.
