Jonathan Cecotto to join ADAC Formula 4: A Big Name Joins Team Motopark

He's seen it all before. But he can't probably remember much because he was too young. Jonathan Cecotto is the son of Johnny Cecotto, the Venezoelan who turned into a star in German Touring Car racing following his career as Motorcycle World Champion and Formula One driver. And young Jonathan accompanied his father to many of the German racetracks which he will now compete on, for Jonathan Cecotto will compete in the new ADAC Formula 4 championship in 2015.

Cecotto, the younger of two racing brothers, started racing karts at the age of four. He competed in Italy for most of his career and also tested Formula BMW and Formula Four cars there. In addition to that, he followed his brothers career into GP2 and learned a lot by just taking it all in.

"Everyboy in German racing knows the name ‚Cecotto'; we really take a big heritage aboard," says Timo Rumpfkeil. "We feel honoured that someone so knowlegdeable as Johnny Cecotto has chosen our Team Motopark for his youngest son's first steps into car racing. We know young Cecotto will be under the spotlight simply because of his name, and that everybody will be watching us. But we're convinced we can deliver the goods and make Cecotto live up to his big name."

Jonathan Cecotto: "I am very excited to start the ADAC Formula 4 season, especially because it's my first championship in a single seater. I have been working hard all winter, and I will give everything I can this year. I am also very happy to be part of Team Motopark, which is an excellent and very competitive team! They can definitely teach me a lot, which is really important at the moment. The final goal though, is always to win as much as possible!"
