Marvin Dienst´s success story continues smoothly. Ten days ago, the 18-year-old secured the first championship win in the ADAC Formula 4 ahead of time in the season finale at the Hockenheimring by clinching the title in the first race.
Dienst returns this weekend (October 16th-18th) to the circuit where he achieved his biggest success in motorsport so far when he debuts in the FIA Formula 3 European championship. Dienst will contest his first race at the wheel of a Formula 3 car in the Hockenheim finale. The local driver will line up alongside Latvian Harald Schlegelmilch for the recently established Russian outfit, Artline Engineering.
Dienst´s record in the 2015 ADAC Formula 4 season: Eight wins, 14 podiums, seven pole positions and six fastest laps in 24 races. "I´ve been planning to move up to a higher class for some time and feel ready to do so," he said after lifting the title. "Winning the title in the ADAC Formula 4 is certainly good enough reason to give me a chance. My main goal is to race in the 24-Hours of Le Mans."
As the first ADAC Formula 4 champion, Dienst is set to follow in the footsteps of successful predecessors. The ADAC formula racing youth development programme has long been a starting point for future motor racing stars. In the past, Formula 1 drivers including four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, world championship runner-up Nico Rosberg, Nico Hülkenberg and Ralf Schumacher plus DTM stars Martin Tomczyk, Pascal Wehrlein and Timo Glock all started their successful careers in various ADAC formula racing series for juniors.
