ADAC Formel 4·30.11.2015

Marvin Dienst is Motorsport Talent of the Year: Another milestone

The conclusion of a highly successful season in the ADAC Formula 4, as Marvin Dienst (18, Germany, HTP F4 Junior Team UNGAR) is elected Motorsport Talent of the Year 2015. The champion topped the rankings at the end of the year in the Deutsche Post Speed Academy to win the title. The 18-year-old received his award at the traditional Race Night during the Essen Motor Show.

Dienst won through against second-placed Maximilian Günther. During the 2013 and 2014 seasons, ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Günther lined up in the Formel ADAC which was the predecessor of the ADAC Formula 4, before moving up to contest the FIA Formula 3 European Championship. ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Tim Zimmermann (19, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) booked third place overall in the Speed Academy.

"Overall victory in the Speed Academy is the icing on the cake at the end of a great season and represents another milestone in my career," said Dienst. "I'm very pleased to have been part of this terrific sponsorship programme, because I've learned a lot." Dienst impressed a distinguished jury of experts with his performance both on and off the track.

Dienst entered the record books as the first champion in the history of the ADAC Formula 4 just a little while ago. He clinched the title during the season finale of the ADAC High-Speed Academy at the Hockenheimring. Dienst's record in this successful inaugural season of the Formula 4 junior series in 2015: Eight wins, 14 podiums, seven pole positions and six fastest race laps.

Two more ADAC Formula 4 drivers have also been members of the Speed Academy apart from Dienst and Zimmermann. Michael Waldherr (19, Germany, Motopark) and Marek Böckmann (18, Germany, Jenzer Motorsport) were among the six candidates in all who received sponsorship. Young, talented racing drivers have received a helping hand as they make the transition into professional motorsport since 2004. Nine members of the jury, including ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk and DTM ace Timo Glock, evaluated the young drivers' performance over a 12-month period.
