A special event is in prospect for Mick Schumacher to set a final highlight to his debut season in the ADAC Formula 4. The son of record Formula 1 championship winner Michael Schumacher will line up at Stars & Cars 2015. The 16-year-old secured the fans´ vote in a ballot and will be one of six guest starters at the motor racing spectacular in the Mercedes-Benz Arena Stuttgart.
Schumacher will encounter the two Formula 1 drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg, at Stars & Cars along with the eight drivers from a Mercedes-AMG DTM team that includes former ADAC GT Masters champion Maximilian Götz. Apart from Schumacher, fans also voted for David Coulthard, Mika Häkkinen, Jean Alesi, Bernd Schneider and Bernd Mayländer to join the list of guest starters.
SPORT1, who are the exclusive TV partners of ADAC Formula 4, will broadcast the event live on television. Starting at 17:00 CET on December 12th, fans in the stadium can see how formula racing rookie Schumacher shapes up against the stars and legends of motor racing or they can watch him on live TV.
Stars & Cars will feature real racing action this year. 15 heats and five special races will be held during the event on a track that measures from seven to eight metres in width set up inside the Mercedes-Benz Arena Stuttgart.
The main competition consists of four rounds, ranging from the first round with 16 entrants to the final with just two starters. The participants compete against each other in identical cars in every race - the winner of each heat goes through to the next round, in which he has to line up in a different car. The evening´s best two drivers will go head-to-head in the final to decide who is the 2015 Stars & Cars Champion.
Mick Schumacher placed third in the Rookie Championship in his first season in formula racing. He lined up for the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing team in the ADAC Formula 4. Schumacher´s record in the ADAC High-Speed Academy: A win in the season opener at Oschersleben, two podiums and two front-row starts. He placed tenth overall in the championship with 92 points.
