The fifth race weekend of the 2015 ADAC Formula 4 season at the Nürburgring promises to be an exciting affair. The young drivers battled for thousandths of a second at the top of the timesheet during the second practice session on Friday afternoon. Lando Norris (15, GBR, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) won through against Marvin Dienst (18, GER, HTP Juniorteam) with a lead of six thousandths of a second after a thrilling scrap.
The rookie from kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport took P1 in the final minute of the 25-minute practice session. Norris covered the 3.629 km track in 1:27.888 minutes on his best lap; this is only his second race weekend in the ADAC Formula 4 after Spa-Francorchamps.
Dienst just misses second best time
Dienst headed the timesheets for a long time and was well on his way to finishing fastest of all the 36 drivers again in the second session after taking fastest time in FP1. The HTP Juniorteam youngster achieved a personal best time of 1:27.894 minutes. Norris and Dienst were the only two drivers to crack 1:28. Third best-placed driver Janneau Esmeijer (18, NED, HTP Juniorteam) posted a 1: 28.030 on his fastest lap.
The kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport rookies made a strong start to the first race weekend after the summer break. Apart from Norris, David Beckmann (15, GER, kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) also finished in the top four on the timesheet. The series newcomer from Hagen posted a 1:28.133, just 0.245 seconds behind team-mate Norris. P5 went to Ralf Aron (17, EST, Prema Powerteam), who is returning to the ADAC Formula 4 fold this weekend.
