A special treat was in store for Mick Schumacher to round off his debut season in the ADAC Formula 4. The son of record Formula 1 championship winner Michael Schumacher lined up in front of 35, 612 spectators at Stars & Cars 2015.
The 16-year-old won through against a number of other racing drivers in a ballot of fans to become one of six guest starters at the motor racing spectacular in the Mercedes-Benz Arena Stuttgart. In a second round of balloting, fans picked Nico Rosberg as his duelling partner.
So it was Schumacher against Rosberg in the final heat of the round of sixteen. The ADAC Formula 4 Rookie put up a strong fight against the Formula 1 world championship runner-up and was only narrowly beaten in the end. Schumacher was just 1.823 seconds down on Rosberg at the finish line after four laps.

Stars & Cars was broadcast live by SPORT1, the exclusive television partner of the ADAC Formula 4. All in all, 16 races and five special contests were staged during the event on a track laid out inside the Mercedes-Benz Arena Stuttgart which measured from seven and eight metres in width. In the end, DTM driver Daniel Juncadella beat Pascal Wehrlein, the 2015 DTM Champion and 2011 Formel ADAC Champion, in the grand finale.
Mick Schumacher placed third in the Rookie Championship in his first season in formula racing. He lined up for the Dutch Van Amersfoort Racing team in the ADAC Formula 4. Schumacher's record in the ADAC High-Speed Academy: A win in the season opener at Oschersleben, two podiums and two front-row starts. He placed tenth overall in the championship with 92 points.
