ADAC Formel 4·8.10.2015

Wanted. Porsche Junior: Dienst in final round : ADAC Formula 4 champion to get new company car?

Who will become the latest Porsche Junior to contest the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany? The selection process entered the final round at the Lausitzring. Four young talents from more than a hundred applicants qualified for the final session at the track, including newly crowned ADAC Formula 4 champion Marvin Dienst.

The candidates went head-to-head on Tuesday and Wednesday in a bid to secure one of the coveted sponsored places in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. They qualified for the shoot-out at the racetrack after extensive testing and interviews at the first selection round in Potsdam. The winner from the group of drivers with no previous GT driving experience will contest the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany.

Every driver in the test at the wheel of a 460-bhp Porsche 911 GT3 Cup had the same number of tyres at his disposal, and the young talents worked on a setup for the car, aided by Porsche engineers. Drivers were given valuable tips during analysis of the data by Porsche Junior Sven Müller, who was at the track to set the points of reference.

A race weekend with practice, qualifying and race was simulated during several sessions. The most promising young talent will receive sponsorship to the tune of 150,000 euros and comprehensive support. Driver-coach Sascha Maassen will act as instructor to the Porsche Juniors. Training in the fields of media, fitness and mental preparation and meetings with sponsors will also form part of the programme.
