Mike David Ortmann (16, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) set best time in the first ADAC Formula 4 practice session at Zandvoort. The ADAC Sports Foundation protégé covered the track in 1:38.467 minutes on his fastest lap during this morning's 30-minute session. The two rookies, Lirim Zendeli (16, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV, 1:38.869) and Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam, 1:39.001), placed second and third respectively.
Kim-Luis Schramm (19, Germany, US Racing) secured the fourth-fastest time, followed by Sophia Flörsch (15, Germany, Motopark), who is also an ADAC Sports Foundation protégée, and Juan Manuel Correa (17, USA, Ecuador, Prema Powerteam).
Joey Mawson (20, Australia, Van Amersfoort Racing) finished ninth in front of Kami Laliberte (16, Canada, Van Amersfoort Racing). Mick Schumacher (17, Germany, Prema Powerteam) booked twelfth place. Mawson and Schumacher have drawn away from the competition in the overall standings after their recent victories at the Nürburgring. The Australian leads with 297 points while former team-mate Schumacher is on 251 points.
Second practice is at 10.40, followed by qualifying this afternoon at 14.45 and 15:10 when drivers will be divided into two groups for the 20-minute sessions. Three races are to be staged during this race weekend at Zandvoort. Drivers will line up on Saturday at 12.00 and 17:45 to hunt for points in the first two races. The third race will be at 10:20 on Sunday. SPORT1 and SPORT1+ will broadcast all three fixtures live from the Netherlands.
