First day of ADAC Formula 4 tests at Oschersleben : 38 contestants have the opportunity to put in their first laps of the season

At last they are back in action: at 8:30am prompt on Monday morning, the cars which have been entered for the 2016 ADAC Formula 4 campaign rolled out onto the tarmac at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The contestants for the second season of the ADAC junior formula series were eager to record their first test kilometres. There is not much time left before the start of the season on April 15 when the youngsters will be competing for points and victories on the opening weekend at Oschersleben.

In all, 38 drivers have made the trip to the circuit near Magdeburg. There is a total of seven training sessions on the programme for Monday and Tuesday. The fastest lap in the first two sessions (1:26.974 minutes) was set by Mick Schumacher. The son of record Formula 1 world championship winner Michael Schumacher is about to contest his second season in ADAC Formula 4 as a member of the Prema Powerteam squad. Second and third places over the first two sessions went to Michael Waldherr (01:26.975) of Team Lechner Racing and Juan Manuel Correa who also drives for Prema Powerteam. Correa posted a time of 01:27.078 minutes. Kim-Luis Schramm of the Kerpen-based US Racing team twice featured in the Top Three (01:27.250 mins in FP1 and 01:27.102 mins in FP2).

There are two more training sessions scheduled for Monday and three for Tuesday.
