Kim-Luis Schramm in move to US Racing: Potential for top finishes in ADAC Formula 4

He is already acquainted with the podium. In his first season in the ADAC Formula 4 with Austrian team, Neuhauser Racing, Kim-Luis Schramm secured a third place at the Sachsenring, his greatest success to date, and finished a strong fifth in the Hockenheimring season finale. He aims to continue his second season in the ADAC high-speed series for juniors with Kerpen-based team, US Racing, in 2016 and build on previous successes.

The 18-year-old is highly motivated with just five weeks to go before the start of the season: "My first test felt good, which makes me feel optimistic about 2016. Podiums and wins are obviously my main objective." Schramm is particularly pleased to be: "a part of the team led by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar. I've the ideal grounding to develop as a driver at US Racing."

"Kim-Luis is a focused driver with a lot of experience, especially in the Formula 4 car, which was very noticeable at the first test," said team boss Gerhard Ungar. "He has the potential to race up front this season, for sure!"

Ex-Formula 1 and DTM driver Ralf Schumacher also recognises in Kim-Luis Schramm that he has the prerequisites for a successful season in the ADAC Formula 4: "I've known him ever since his days in karting. He is fast and very focused, above all. His approach fits our team structure, which improves working with the engineers and mechanics no end," said Schumacher, who heads the team along with Ungar, as of this year.

Apart from Schramm, Carrie Schreiner, Jannes Fittje and British teenager Louis Gachot complete the squad at US Racing, who produced the champion of the inaugural season last year - Marvin Dienst - while still going by the name HTP F4 Team UNGAR.

However, there's still one important matter left on his to-do list before the season opens - his 'A' levels at the grammar school in Ilmenau!
