Kim Luis Schramm with best time in FP2: The 18-year-old US Racing driver was one second faster than he had been in the first session

Driving for Kerpen-based team, US Racing's Kim Luis Schramm (DEU), posted best time in the second free practice session of the ADAC Formula 4 at the Sachsenring. The 18-year-old posted a 1:19.393 on his fastest lap and was one second faster than he had been inthis morning's first session (1:20396).

Schramm's team-mate, Jannes Fittje (16, DEU, US Racing), slotted into second place. The ADAC Sports Foundation protégé covered the Hohenstein-Ernstthal track in 1:19.502 minutes. Australian Joey Mawson (20, Van Amersfoort Racing), who was quickest in first practice, placed third with a 1:19.645.

Kami Laliberté (16, Switzerland, Van Amersfoort Racing) was fourth-fastest driver with a time of 1:19.860 minutes. Mick Schumacher (17, Switzerland, Prema Powerteam) improved from 16th place in the first race to finish fifth (1:19.934). The son of record Formula 1 world champion winner Michael Schumacher is on 19 points in second place in the standings behind Mawson.

The qualifying heats will be held this afternoon at 5:15 and 5:40 pm when the drivers will be split into their respective groups for two 20-minute sessions. The top eleven drivers from each group will qualify directly for the races on Saturday and Sunday. All the other drivers will get another chance in the qualifying race on Saturday at 10:45 am to decide grid positions 23 and upwards.

Three races will be staged during this race weekend at the Sachsenring. The drivers will commence the hunt for points on Saturday at 4:45 pm. SPORT1 will broadcast the fixture live. Race 2 is on Sunday at 11.20 am (live on SPORT1+) followed by Race 3 at 3.40 pm (live on SPORT1+).
