Juri Vips (15, Estonia, Prema Powerteam) underlined the strong form of the ADAC Formula 4 rookies by posting fastest time in the third free practice session at the Nürburgring. The 15-year-old set the best time of anyone today with a 1:27.403 minutes, consigning rookie Juan Manuel Correa (16, USA, Ecuador, Prema Powerteam) to P2 with a deficit of 0.086 seconds and Mick Schumacher (17, Germany, Prema Powerteam, +0.105) to third place. Correa had set the best time of 1:27.876 minutes earlier in the first session this morning, while championship leader Joey Mawson (20, Australia, Van Amersfoort Racing, 1:27.575) was quickest in the second round.
Rookies Lirim Zendeli (16, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg), Richard Verschoor (15, Netherlands, Motopark), Kim-Luis Schramm (19, Germany, US Racing) and Nicklas Nielsen (19, Denmark, Neuhauser Racing) followed the leaders home in positions four to eight this Friday afternoon. Mawson crossed the line in P9 ahead of rookie Felipe Drugovich (16, Brazil, Neuhauser Racing).
Drivers in the ADAC High Speed Academy will really get down to serious business on Saturday with qualifying at 9:40 and 10:05 (drivers split into two groups) and the 16th race of the season at 14.50, which will be broadcast live on Germany's biggest sports channel SPORT 1. Race 17 will be staged at 10:30 on Sunday and Race 18 will follow at 14:50.
