Marcus Armstrong (17, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) was the first to shine as the penultimate weekend of the ADAC Formula 4 got under way, setting best time in practice at the Sachsenring. Currently placed third in the championship, he posted the fastest lap time of 1:26.822 minutes in the first session on Friday morning, consigning Jonathan Aberdein (19, South Africa, Motopark) and Louis Gachot (18, Great Britain, US Racing) to second and third place respectively.
Lirim Zendeli (17, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) finished fourth in front of Julian Hanses (20, Germany, US Racing) and guest entrant Artem Petrov (17, Russia, Van Amersfoort Racing). Felipe Drugovich (17, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing), Frederik Vesti (15, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing), rookie Charles Weerts (16, Belgium, Motopark) and championship leader Juri Vips (17, Estonia, Prema Powerteam) completed the Top Ten.
Second practice will start at 11.45 am. Qualifying is at 3:45 pm. Races 16, 17 and 18 will be contested during this penultimate race weekend of the season. Sport1 will broadcast the races live. In addition, live streams will be available at www.sport1.de and www.adac.de/motorsport.
