South African driver Jonathan Aberdein (19, Motopark) posted best time in the first ADAC Formula 4 practice at the Red Bull Ring. The 19-year-old went fastest this Friday morning with a time of 1:30.768 minutes, closely followed by Marcus Armstrong (16, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) and Kami Laliberté (17, Canada, Van Amersfoort Racing). Second practice will get under way at 4.35pm this afternoon in Spielberg, Austria.
Guest starter Job van Uitert (18, Netherlands, Jenzer Motorsport) placed fourth in front of Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam), who leads the championship standings, and Julian Hanses (19, Germany, US Racing). Kush Maini (16, India, Jenzer Motorsport), Frederic Vesti (15, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing), Leonard Hoogenboom (17, Netherlands, Motopark) and rookie champion Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark, US Racing) completed the Top Ten.
Thirty-one drivers are contesting the meeting at the Red Bull Ring, the largest number so far this season. Qualifying will take place at 10.40am on Saturday, and Races 7, 8 and 9 will be staged over the weekend. There have been six different winners in the previous six races.
