Samba in Austria: The Brazilian Felipe Drugovich (17, Van Amersfoort Racing) posted best time in the second ADAC Formula 4 practice session at the Red Bull Ring. The 17-year-old also set the fastest lap of the day with a 1:30.263 minutes. Drugovich was followed home by Julian Hanses (19, Germany, US Racing) and the current championship leader, Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam)
The results from the first two practice sessions mean that the qualifying session on Saturday at 10.40am and Races 7, 8 and 9 to be held over the weekend should prove very exciting. The field was bunched very close together as usual. Drugovich was less than four tenths of a second faster than guest entrant Sebastian Fernandez Wahbeh (16, Venezuela, Bhaitech Racing), who placed tenth.
Rookie champion Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark, US Racing) took fourth place from Marcus Armstrong (16, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) and Fabio Scherer (17, Switzerland, US Racing). Michael Waldherr (20, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) was seventh, Juan Manuel Correa (17, USA, Ecuador, Prema Powerteam) finished eighth and guest starter Job van Uitert (18, Netherlands, Jenzer Motorsport) placed ninth ahead of Fernandez Wahbeh. Mick Wishofer (17, Austria, Lechner Racing) was best rookie in 26th place.
