Kim-Luis Schramm (19, Germany, US Racing) posted the fastest time in the first ADAC Formula 4 practice session at the Lausitzring. Driving for Kerpen-based US Racing, the 19-year-old covered the Eurospeedway circuit in 1:24.099 minutes, putting him narrowly in front of Felipe Drugovich (16, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing). The 16-year-old Brazilian was only 0.044 seconds adrift as this second race weekend of the third ADAC Formula 4 season got under way. Drugovich's team-mate, Frederik Vesti (15, Denmark), came home in third place with a deficit of 0.270 seconds on Schramm.
Julian Hanses (19, Germany, US Racing), Fabio Scherer (17, Switzerland, US Racing), last year's rookie champion Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark, US Racing), Kami Laliberté (17, Canada, Van Amersfoort Racing), championship leader Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam), Juan Manuel Correa (17, USA/Ecuador, Prema Powerteam) and Jonathan Aberdein (19, South Africa, Motopark) completed the Top Ten.
Another 30-minute training session is set to take place for the drivers in the ADAC's high-speed school this afternoon at 12.50 pm before they head back out on track for qualifying at 4.05 pm. The fastest times will then decide grid positions for the first race on Saturday at 11.30 am while the second-best lap times will determine grid slots for the second race at 5.40 pm. The race weekend at the Lausitzring will end for the ADAC Formula 4 drivers with the third round on Sunday at 4.55 pm. All races will be broadcast on SPORT1 and SPORT1+ and will also be made available as livestreams on the internet at www.SPORT1.de and www.adac-motorsport.de.
