Marcus Armstrong (16, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) saw off the competition in the second ADAC Formula 4 practice session at Oschersleben. The 16-year-old, who took his maiden win in the ADAC’s high-speed school last time out at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, posted the fastest lap time of 1:24.702 minutes, beating the best time of 1:24.723 set by Julian Hanses (19, Germany, US Racing) in the first session this Friday morning.
Fabio Scherer (18, Switzerland, US Racing), Felipe Drugovich (17, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing) and Hanses followed Armstrong home. Jonathan Aberdein (19, South Africa), driving for Oschersleben-based Team Motopark, Kami Laliberté (17, Canada, Van Amersfoort Racing), Juan Manuel Correa (17, USA/Ecuador, Prema Powerteam), Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark, US Racing ), championship leader Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam) and David Malukas (15, USA, Motopark) completed the Top Ten.
Belgian driver Charles Weerts (16, Belgium, Motopark) finished the second session in P19 and was again best rookie.
Racing continues for teams and drivers in the ADAC’s high-speed school with qualifying on Saturday at 8.30am. Race 10 will follow at 12.50pm and Race 11 at 3.55pm. SPORT1 and SPORT1+ will feature these races, and a live stream will also be available at www.adac.de/motorsport and www.SPORT1.de.
