Nürburgring: Best time on the day for Zendeli: The 17-year-old finishes ahead of Hanses and Schramm in second ADAC Formula 4 practice session

Lirim Zendeli (17, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) set today's best time in the second ADAC Formula 4 practice session. Driving for ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV, the 17-year-old posted the fastest lap of the day, 1:27.729 minutes, in the second session this Friday afternoon. In doing so, he also beat Marcus Armstrong's (17, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam) best time of 1:28.086 minutes from FP1 this morning.

Zendeli was followed home by Julian Hanses (19, Germany) and Kim-Luis Schramm (20, Germany) from Kerpen-based racing team, US Racing, managed by team bosses, Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar. The three championship contenders, Felipe Drugovich (17, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing), Juri Vips (16, Estonia, Prema Powerteam) and Marcus Armstrong slotted into place behind them. These three drivers are separated by only nine points in the championship. Vips is on 150 points, Drugovich 143 and Armstrong 141 in third place.

Rookie champion Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark, US Racing) took P7 from Louis Gachot (17, Great Britain, Van Amersfoort Racing) and Andreas Estner (17, Germany, Neuhauser Racing). Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam) again placed in the Top Ten in second practice, finishing in P10. The grandson of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi had been eighth in the opening session this morning.

Drivers and teams competing in the ADAC high-speed school will get down to the serious business of qualifying early tomorrow morning at 8.30am here in the Eifel as they prepare for Races 13, 14 and 15 which are being contested this weekend.
