Julian Hanses (20, Germany, US Racing) confirmed his good showing from practice by securing pole position in the first two ADAC Formula 4 races at the Sachsenring. The 20-year-old was the only driver to crack 1:18.00 minutes in qualifying, setting best time of 1:17.942. Hanses was also ahead where the second-best times are concerned which decide grid slots for the second race, posting a time of 1:18.090 minutes. Hanses: "To secure pole twice for the first time, that was my intention after having such good practice sessions. The Sachsenring is a challenging circuit that suits me down to the ground. I knew I would be able to finish on top if I pulled out all the stops, which I managed to do. I'll definitely try to upset the others a bit, but most of all, I'm going to endeavour to do my job, and it will look good if I can accomplish that."

The three-way fight for the championship in the ADAC High-Speed Academy is also set to remain exciting. Marcus Armstrong (17, New Zealand, Prema Powerteam), who is currently second in the championship, will be second on the grid in both races, putting pressure on front-runner, Juri Vips (17, Estonia, Prema Powerteam), who had to settle for eighth and ninth place after being forced to park up following a trip into the gravel. Felipe Drugovich (17, Brazil, Van Amersfoort Racing), who is third in the championship, booked sixth place twice.

The two US Racing drivers Fabio Scherer (18, Switzerland), who took P3, rookie champion Nicklas Nielsen (20, Denmark) in P4 and Sophia Flörsch (16, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg eV) will start in front of Drugovich in the first race while Frederik Vesti (15, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing), Juri Vips and Kim-Luis Schramm (21, Germany, US Racing) will be behind him. Schramm has a five-place grid penalty in Race 1 for ignoring the red flag in practice.

In the second race on Sunday morning at 9.20 am, Scherer, Flörsch, Schramm, Drugovich, Nielsen, Vesti, Vips and Louis Gachot (18, United Kingdom, Van Amersfoort Racing) will line up behind Hanses and Armstrong.

This penultimate race weekend will finish with the third race on Sunday at 3.45 pm. The result of the first race will determine positions on the grid for this fixture, and the Top Ten will start in reverse order.
