Leon Köhler (18, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) produced the first best time in the ADAC Formula 4 season opener at Oschersleben. The rookie ADAC Sports Foundation protégé was fastest in Friday morning's first session with a time of 1:35.770 minutes, finishing just under one-and-a-half seconds up on the two Prema drivers, Oliver Caldwell (15, Great Britain, Prema Powerteam) and Gianluca Petecof (15, Brazil , Prema Powerteam).
They were followed home in the warm, spring-like conditions by Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam), Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing), Leonardo Lorandi (17, Italy, KDC Racing) and rookie Joey Alders (18, Netherlands, Van Amersfoort Racing). The two Estner brothers, Andreas (17, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) and Sebastian (16, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) finished eighth and ninth. P10 went to Frederik Vesti (16, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing).
The ADAC Formula 4 drivers will be back out on track at 10.15 am and then again this afternoon for qualifying at 3.20 pm. SPORT1 will broadcast the races on TV to kick off the start of the ADAC high-speed school's fourth season of racing.
