Frederik Vesti (16, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing) posted best time in the first ADAC Formula 4 practice session at Spielberg's Red Bull Ring. He is currently in sixth place in the drivers' standings and was the fastest driver home this Friday morning with a time of 1:31.281 in temperatures of 17 degrees on a dry track. Vesti was just under three tenths quicker than Liam Lawson (16, New Zealand, Van Amersfoort Racing), who secured two wins last time out at the Lausitzring. The overall leader in the rankings, Lirim Zendeli (18, Germany, USA Racing CHRS) set the third-best lap time.
Next on the timesheet were Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing), David Schumacher (16, Germany, USA Racing CHRS), who was best rookie and Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing) in sixth place. Local favourite Mick Wishofer (18, Austria, US Racing CHRS) finished in P7 ahead of Andreas Estner (17, Germany, Neuhauser Racing) and the two rookies, Gianluca Petecof (15, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing) and Joey Alders (18, Netherlands, Van Amersfoort Racing).
The ADAC Formula 4 drivers will be back in action at 1.45 pm for practice and again at 6.35 pm for qualifying. SPORT1 will broadcast racing from the ADAC high-speed school's fourth season of meetings on TV.
