ADAC Formel 4·27.12.2018

Oliver Rasmussen first announced driver for Prema: The Dane is set to make his ADAC Formula 4 debut with the Italian outfit next year.

Shortly before the Christmas break, the Italian-based Prema Powerteam announced the first name in their line-up for the 2019 ADAC Formula 4 season, namely Oliver Rasmussen. The 18-year-old Dane, who currently resides in southern France, will be competing on two fronts in the coming year. In parallel with the Italian junior series, Rasmussen will be contesting ADAC Formula 4, the German equivalent which commences its fifth season in late April with the traditional opening fixture at Oschersleben (26th - 28th April).

Rasmussen is a latecomer to the sport. He first drove an F4 car in 2018, having taken his first steps in karting in 2017. In only his rookie season, the young Dane demonstrated terrific potential with multiple Top Ten finishes and several appearances on the Best Rookie podium. In 2019, he will take his career to the next level.

Asked about the new signing, team principal Angelo Rosin said: “Oliver has made good progress in his first stints at the wheel of a single-seater. He is very committed, and we are convinced that he has great potential. We will do our best to support him in his career, and I am sure that good results will come as a matter of course.”

Oliver Rasmussen himself is looking forward to the challenges of the new year and to being a member of what he describes as “one of the best teams in the business”: “I will be working hard in the winter to get myself in the best possible shape, ready to compete for top positions next year. I hope this will be the beginning of a long and successful partnership with Prema.”
