Pole position for Frederik Vesti and Liam Lawson: Danish driver Vesti will occupy the top place on the grid for the start of the first race

Danish driver Frederik Vesti (16, Van Amersfoort Racing) and championship leader Liam Lawson (16, New Zealand, Van Amersfoort Racing) will be on pole for the two ADAC Formula 4 races taking place under the banner of the Emirates Grand Prix of Germany at Hockenheim. Vesti set best time of 1:51.187 minutes during a rain-affected first qualifying session, putting him in pole position for the start of the first race of the weekend on Saturday afternoon at 5:00 pm. On a track which had dried out by now, Lawson posted a time of 1:42.161 minutes to go to the top of the timesheets in the second qualifying session which determined grid positions for Sunday's second race at 10:10 am.

Rookie Leon Köhler (18, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) and Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing) will line up behind Vesti for the first race. Lawson qualified fourth on the grid while Oliver Caldwell (16, United Kingdom, Prema Theodore Racing) and championship leader Lirim Zendeli (18, Germany, US Racing CHRS) slotted into position behind him. Rookie David Schumacher (16, Germany, US Racing CHRS) finished seventh, followed by Mick Wishofer (18, Austria, US Racing CHRS), Frederico Malvestitit (18, Italy, Jenzer Motorsport) and Gregoire Saucy (18, Switzerland, Jenzer Motorsport).

New Zealand driver Lawson will lead the field out on Sunday morning after consigning Zendeli and Schumacher to second and third place respectively. Vesti finished fourth. Jack Doohan (15, Australia, Van Amersfoort Racing), son of five-time world motorcycle champion Mick Doohan, was fifth. Enzo Fittipaldi (17, USA/Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing), Wishofer, Caldwell, Saucy and the rookie, Gianluca Petecof (15, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing), completed the Top Ten.

In the run-up to the 13th out of a total of 20 races taking place this season, Zendeli is 24 points ahead of Lawson and 61 points up on Fittipaldi in the overall standings. Niklas Krütten (15, Germany, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) currently leads the Rookie classification and Schumacher is 13 points behind him in second place.
