ADAC Formula 4 qualifying will follow later this afternoon as racing continues in warm summer temperatures during the DTM season opener at Hockenheim. SPORT1 will broadcast all the races of the ADAC high-speed school live on TV.
Lirim Zendeli (18, Germany, US Racing CHRS) again finished on top at the end of the second ADAC Formula 4 practice session at Hockenheim. The leader of the overall standings posted the fastest lap of 1:41.488 on Friday afternoon, beating his best time from first practice by half-a-second (1:41.928).
Charles Weerts (17, Belgium, Van Amersfoort Racing) came home in front of team-mates Liam Lawson (16, New Zealand, Van Amersfoort Racing) and Frederik Vesti (16, Denmark, Van Amersfoort Racing). Mick Wishofer (18, Austria, US Racing CHRS), last year's rookie champion, finished fifth, followed by Enzo Fittipaldi (16, Brazil, Prema Theodore Racing). Best rookie of the second session was David Schumacher (16, Germany, USA Racing CHRS) in seventh position, coming home ahead of guest starter Jack Doohan (15, Australia, Prema Powerteam), the son of motorcycle legend Mick Doohan. Third place went to Joey Alders (18, Netherlands, Van Amersfoort Racing). Oliver Caldwell (15, Great Britain, Prema Theodore Racing), who won the third race at the season opener in Oschersleben, finished tenth.
Qualifying is next up for the drivers in the ADAC high-speed school this afternoon at 5:25 pm. SPORT1 will broadcast the races from the Hockenheimring live on TV. All races are also freely available online as livestream at sport1.de, adac.de/motorsport and youtube.com/adac.
