16-year-old Norwegian Dennis Hauger left the competition trailing during second practice at the Red Bull Ring. With a time of 1:30.426, Van Amersfoort Racing’s driver not only set the fastest time of the day but also had a clear lead of 0.485 seconds on William Alatalo (Finland) in P2, who had been quickest earlier after posting the first best time of this second ADAC Formula 4 race weekend. The winner of the first race of the season at Oschersleben, Ferrari Junior Gianluca Petecof (Brazil), was third.
The two qualifying sessions of the ADAC High-Speed Academy are next up on the programme at 5.50 and 6.10 pm. The first of three races will be held tomorrow, Saturday, while the other two rounds will be staged on Sunday. SPORT1 will broadcast the ADAC Formula 4 races live on TV. Hauger’s team-mate, ADAC Sports Foundation protégé Niklas Krütten (Germany) finished fifth. Prema driver Paul Aron (Estonia) in eighth place was best Rookie. Championship leader Roman Stanek (Czech Republic) was 16th while Arthur Leclerc (Monaco), the younger brother of Formula 1 shooting star Charles Leclerc came home in 15th place.
