Famularo joins Prema Powerteam for 2019: 16-year-old Venezuelan will also contest a number of ADAC Formula 4 races

Fresh young face at Prema Powerteam for the 2019 season. Following the signing of Danish driver Oliver Rasmussen, 16-year-old Venezuelan Alessandro Famularo is the second driver to join the Italian outfit's Formula 4 team after completing his rookie season in the Italian Formula 4 series last year. During 2019, he will focus on racing in Italy but will also contest a number of races in the ADAC Formula 4. The fifth season of the German single-seater series for juniors will get underway at Oschersleben on the weekend of 26th/28th April.

The former karting driver left his home in Venezuela at an early age, moving first to America and then to Europe. His form last season was particularly impressive with a number of finishes in the Top Ten. Prema Team Principal Angelo Rosin is looking forward to working with him and told us: "Alessandro has already shown his potential and made steady progress last year. However, we can see that he's ready for the next stage in his development and are delighted to be guiding him on his way."

Alessandro Famularo is also looking forward to the new season with huge anticipation and excitement. "Lining up with Prema in both the Italian and German championships is going to be awesome! I'm sure that this will be an outstanding year and am prepared to give it my best shot. I would like to especially thank my mentor, Juan Pablo Montoya, and everyone in the Prema team. I'm sure that this will be just the start of a very fruitful relationship."
