Norwegian driver Dennis Hauger (Van Amersfoort Racing) dominated the ADAC Formula 4 qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring, taking pole position for the fourth and fifth races of the season. Hauger set the fastest time of 1:30.881 in Q1 and will start in the race on Saturday at 1.15 pm in front of Alessandro Ghiretti (France/US Racing CHRS) and championship leader Roman Stanek.
Czech teenager Stanek (US Racing CHRS) was also best Rookie. Venezuelan driver Alessandro Famularo (Prema Powerteam) will be next to him on the second row. Grid slots five through to ten went to Theo Pourchaire (France), Niklas Krütten (Germany), Sebastian Estner (Germany), William Alatalo (Finland), Joshua Dürksen (Paraguay) and rookie Paul Aron (Estonia).
Hauger shattered his previous personal best time in Q2. His 1:30.488 was by far and away the fastest lap of the day, earning him the top position on the grid for the fifth race of the season on Sunday at 9.55 am. Pourchaire, Famularo, Cohen and Stanek will line up behind him. Aron, Arthur Leclerc, the brother of Formula 1 shooting star Charles Leclerc, Alatalo, Dürksen and the Dane Oliver Rasmussen (Prema Powerteam) completed the Top Ten.
The result of the second round will decide the starting order on the grid for Sunday’s last race at 3:35 pm. The Top Eight will start in reverse order, so the driver who finished eighth will be on pole. SPORT1 is again broadcasting the ADAC High-Speed Academy’s races on TV this year.
