Best time of the day went to Michael Belov (17, Russia), who drives for French team, R-ace GP. The 17-year-old Russian set the fastest lap time of 1:46.863 minutes during the second practice session for the ADAC Formula 4 juniors on Zandvoort's dune circuit in the Netherlands. He was almost 1.5 seconds faster than team-mate Gregoire Saucy (19, Switzerland) had been earlier this Friday morning. Belov benefited from a track that was quickly drying out. The Circuit Zandvoort had still been very wet when the 19 drivers went out to post their initial laps this morning.
Dennis Hauger (16, Norway) from Dutch outfit, Van Amersfoort Racing, and overall championship leader Théo Pourchaire (15, France US Racing - CHRS) slotted into place behind Belov. Saucy finished fifth. Gianluca Petecof (16, Brazil, Prema Powerteam) was sixth. Hadrien David (15, France, R-ace GP), who is competing this weekend in Zandvoort for Team R-ace GP and will line up again for the outfit next weekend at the Nürburgring, completed the Top Seven. Joshua Dürksen (15, Paraguay, ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V.) in P8 was best Rookie in FP2. Arthur Leclerc (18, Monaco, USA Racing CHRS), the younger brother of Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc, is in second place overall ahead of the races at the circuit by the North Sea but returned to the pit lane in tenth place only.
Racing will continue for the drivers from the ADAC High-Speed Academy with qualifying on Saturday morning at 8.00 am in readiness for the ninth race of the season at 1.20 pm. The 19 drivers will line up on Sunday, to contest Race 10 at 9.50 am and Race 11 at 5.00 pm, after which, we will have our 'half-time' champion before the next ADAC Formula 4 highlight gets under way at the Nürburgring in a week's time.
SPORT1 will broadcast the ADAC Formula 4 races on Saturday and Sunday on TV and online at SPORT1.de. Racing can also be watched online as live stream at adac.de/motorsport, on the Facebook page of the ADAC Formula 4 and at youtube.com/adac with a choice of German or English commentary.
