Newcomer to US Racing and to ADAC Formula 4: Oliver Bearman, Junior European and World X30 Kart Champion, is set to make his single-seater debut in the season opener of the 2020 ADAC Formula 4 at the Lausitzring next weekend (31st July - 2nd August). The young star of the karting scene, who is still competing at international level this year, had already indicated his tremendous potential during the ADAC Formula 4 tests as a triallist at US Racing, posting the fastest lap of the entire test weekend.
So it came as no surprise when he was signed by Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar for their US Racing outfit ahead of the curtain-raiser to the sixth season of the ADAC Formula 4 series. "I'm obviously delighted to be contesting my first race in a formula car as a member of the US Racing squad, and I just can't wait for the race weekend to come," said the British 15-year-old.
Experienced team bosses Schumacher and Ungar have spotted immense potential in Bearman. "We've watched Ollie put in some impressive races in karting," says ex-Formula 1 and DTM driver Ralf Schumacher: "Ollie's performance in the tests was very promising, so I'm all the more pleased that he will now be driving for us in the races at the Lausitzring."
Gerhard Ungar: "Ollie drove our car for the first time at the Lausitzring last week, and I was very impressed with his performance. Ollie worked well with the team and showed that he definitely has the potential to succeed in formula racing as well. I'm very happy that he is now a member of our US Racing squad and will be competing for us next week."
Free-to-air TV channel SPORT1 shows at least one race live every weekend, and additional coverage is carried on SPORT1+. All races can be watched online via livestream with German and English commentary on SPORT1.de, youtube.com/adac and adac.de/motorsport.
