Joshua Dürksen, Eric Zuniga and Jonas Ried are the three drivers for Mücke Motorsport. The team plans to start in both ADAC Formula 4 and the Italian championship.
The ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. team will race in ADAC Formula 4 again this season. The trio of drivers consists of two familiar faces and one newcomer. Joshua Dürksen (17, Paraguay) and Erick Zuniga (16, Mexico) were involved last year, while Jonas Ried (16, Ehingen) is welcomed into the fold. He is the son of Christian Ried, successful racing driver and team principal of Proton Competition in the FIA WEC. Ried junior will be making his debut in the series, having already shown glimpses of his potential in the Formula 4 championship in the United Arab Emirates.
“We have been involved from the outset, were even active in this environment in the days of Formula BMW, and are obviously back for more this year,” says team principal Peter Mücke: “We plan to have three drivers, so we will once again be a constant in the series.” The ADAC Berlin-Brandenburg e.V. team will line up at the opening round of ADAC Formula 4 at the Red Bull Ring (11th to 13th June). The team also starts in the Italian championship. “We will start with three drivers in both series and, depending on how the championship pans out, given the possibility of cancellations, we will make decisions as and when they arise,” says Mücke, touching on the uncertainties arising from the coronavirus pandemic. “We have to retain that flexibility.”
Zuniga and Dürksen are “contenders, who can mix it at the top of the championship. That is definitely the goal,” says Mücke. “Jonas Ried is a rookie. That is tough, so we will give him time. He will have to learn and find a solid level of consistency. But Jonas has already shown some very promising signs.”
