Oliver Bearman goes fastest in first test session

The Van Amersfoort driver set the fastest lap time at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The drivers in the ADAC’s high-speed school are preparing for the coming season at the circuit in the Magdeburg Börde region of Germany.

ADAC Formula 4 is warming up for the new season with two days of testing: Britain’s Oliver Bearman (Van Amersfoort Racing) set the pace in the opening session at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. The 15-year-old was the fastest man in the field on Monday morning, setting a lap time of 1:23.525 minutes on a dry track and in temperatures of just eight degrees. He was followed by two new boys: Valentino Catalano, who drives for the BWR Motorsport team, and Joshua Dufek of VAR finished second and third.

The drivers in the ADAC’s high-speed school will complete a total of six sessions at the official test, which sees them spend more than five hours on the track. They will also have the opportunity to practice their starts on Tuesday. As such, the teams and drivers have plenty of time to gain experience and put the finishing touches to their preparations ahead of season seven of ADAC Formula 4.

Last year’s champion rookie, Tim Tramnitz, finished fifth, ahead of karting world champion Taylor Barnard (Great Britain) and Bence Valint (Hungary). Cenyu Han from China, Russian Nikita Bedrin and his compatriot Vlad Lomko completed the top ten.
