Rookie champion Tramnitz to drive for US Racing again

The youngster from Hamburg lines up for his second year in ADAC Formula 4, and has his sights set on the title. “I have obviously set myself ambitious goals,” says the German, who is supported by ADAC Stiftung Sport.

Tim Tramnitz (16, Germany) is all set for his second season in ADAC Formula 4 with US Racing. The top rookie in 2020, who finished fourth overall in his debut season, is hungry to take the next step with Ralf Schumacher and Gerhard Ungar’s team. “I was very happy with my first season last year, and even managed to win the Rookie title with my team,” said the young German, who receives support from ADAC Stiftung Sport. “I have obviously set myself ambitious goals for the coming season and want to challenge for the title this year.”

Tramnitz’s consistency was particularly remarkable in 2020. The young man from Hamburg picked up points in every race, claimed his maiden victory in ADAC Formula 4 at the final round in Oschersleben, and finished on the podium on five occasions. “Tim has the speed and all the necessary attributes to ensure he will produce some exciting racing this year and definitely have a say in the title race,” said former Formula 1 driver Ralf Schumacher.

Gerhard Ungar, together with Schumacher one of the two team principals, is also pleased to be working with Tramnitz again. “Tim is a talented young racing driver, who has developed very well in a Formula car, thanks to his manner and approach,” said Ungar. “We have every confidence that Tim will challenge for the title this season.”

US Racing had previously announced on Monday that Vlad Lomko (16, Russia) will also contest his second season in ADAC Formula 4 for the team from Kerpen. The season kicks off from 14th to 16th May in Oschersleben.
