Sami Meguetounif sets the first fastest time of a trendsetting weekend

Sami Meguetounif (17, R-ace GP) kicked off the race weekend at the Hockenheimring with the fastest time of the first practice session. The Frenchman, who currently sits tenth in the ADAC Formula 4 table, topped the timing sheets with a lap time of 1:53.153 minutes on Friday morning. This is the first time Meguetounif been the quickest driver in an ADAC Formula 4 practice session.

Championship leader Oliver Bearman (16, Great Britain, Van Amersfoort Racing) was second fastest, 0.659 seconds slower than Meguetounif. Bearman’s team-mate Nikita Bedrin (15, Russia, Van Amersfoort Racing) was the top rookie with the fourth fastest time of the session. Tim Tramnitz (16, Hamburg, US Racing) was sixth. Meguetounif’s team-mate Victor Bernier (17, France, R-ace GP) set the third fastest lap of the morning on a dry track and in sunny conditions.

Next up for the ADAC’s high-speed school is FP2 at 12:05, before the serious business begins with qualifying from 16:45. Races 13 to 15 of the season take place on Saturday (12:00) and Sunday (09:40 and 14:15).
