Vlad Lomko will again race for US Racing in ADAC Formula 4 this season, as well as starting at selected races in the Italian Formula 4 series. In his first season in ADAC Formula 4, the 16-year-old won two races in 2020 – at the Nürburgring and the Lausitzring – and ended the season eighth overall. This year, Lomko is looking to fulfil even more of his potential with the team from Kerpen, and even has his sights set on challenging for the title. The seventh season of ADAC Formula 4 kicks off with the opening race weekend at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben from 14th to 16th May 2021.
“I am pleased to be lining up in Formula 4 together with my US Racing team again this year. I learned a lot and won two races in my rookie season with US Racing. I think I have developed in many regards as a racing driver, and am pleased that I now have the opportunity to build on last season together with my team. I obviously cannot wait for the winter break to finally be over so that we can get racing again in 2021,” said the 16-year-old Russian.
Ungar: “If everything falls into place, he could have a say in the title race”
Team principal Gerhard Ungar is also pleased “that Vlad is part of US Racing again this season”. “I think Vlad has made the right decision with his programme for the 2021 season. The second season in Formula 4 will allow him to develop as a racing driver and to put into practice what he learned last season. Vlad has already shown his great potential with the two wins last year. We want to build on that and, if everything falls into place, he can definitely have a say in the title race,” says Ungar. Ralf Schumacher shares Ungar’s opinion: “Vlad has already shown very good development last season and performed well. We will build on that and I am sure that we will see a few highlights from Vlad again this season. Vlad will contest the full ADAC Formula 4 season and selected races in the Italian Formula 4 championships.”
