Tramnitz warms up for qualifying with the fastest time

ADAC Stiftung Sport driver Tim Tramnitz set the fastest time in the second free practice session of ADAC Formula 4 at the Sachsenring, bringing him nicely into form ahead of this evening’s qualifying session. The 17-year-old from Hamburg was the fastest man on Friday afternoon, setting a time of 1:18.747 minutes to finish at the top of the timing sheet, above France’s Victor Bernier (R-ace GP) and championship leader Oliver Bearman (Great Britain).

It was significantly warmer than Friday morning’s opening session, with temperatures around 16 degrees providing the high-speed school’s young drivers with ideal external conditions. This also played a role in Tramnitz beating Victor Bernier’s fastest time from FP1.

In the championship, Bearman currently leads Tramnitz by 49 points and Luke Browning by 62 points. Britain’s Browning, who did not set a time in the first session, was fourth fastest. The best of the rookies was once again Marcus Amand in seventh place. After the two free practice sessions, the talented youngsters now have a chance to take a quick breather before the action resumes again this evening with qualifying at 17:05. Races ten to twelve of the season take place on Saturday (11:45) and Sunday (09:25 and 14:10).
