Four opponents, three brands, one title - who triumphs?

BMW ALPINA drivers Alexandros Margaritis and Dino Lunardi travel as championship leaders to Hockenheim for the 'league of super sportscars' grand season finale. The DTM experienced German-Greek driver and his French partner extended their lead over the two Stuck brothers Johannes and Ferdinand (A) in a Reiter-Lamborghini with a victory at the last round in Assen (NL). 28 points separate the two main rivals.

A maximum 50 points are still up for grabs at Hockenheim. As a result, last year's championship runner-up Christopher Mies (D) also has a good chance since the ABT-Audi driver is only three points behind the Stucks. The title aspirations of fourth placed Luca Ludwig (D) in another ABTAudi are more mathematical. He is 42 points behind.

A new record number of participants

Nevertheless, the son of touring car legend Klaus Ludwig will, like every other driver, give his all in the two one-hour races (starting at 12:00 on Saturday and Sunday, live on 'kabel eins' from 11:45) to close the season with a top result. A new record number of participants are expected at the finale. 46 cars representing ten different brands are in the entry list - more starters are not allowed at Hockenheim.

Also among the contenders are many local matadors such as Ludwig's cockpit partner Jens Klingmann from Leimen, the rapid Mercedes driver Andreas Wirth from Heidelberg or Porsche driver Swen Dolenc from Maulbronn who fights for the championship in the amateur category. The Corvette team Callaway Competition from Leingarten also has its home race with the duo Sven Hannawald (D) and Heinz-Harald Frentzen (D) as most prominent contenders.
