In the first of two races of the "super sports car league" at the Lausitzring Sebastian Asch/Michael Ammermüller (D/D) won in an a-workx-Porsche. The son of racing legend Roland Asch (D), who shared the sister car with Wolfgang Hageleit (D), and the former Red Bull Formula 1 test driver Ammermüller celebrated their first win of the season in front of Daniel Keilwitz/Diego Alessi (D/I) in a Callaway-Corvette. For Asch/Ammermüller, it was also a special success for a different reason: Three weeks ago at the Red Bull Ring in Austria they were the victims of huge misfortune when they retired while leading the race in their 911. Stefan Wendt/Nicolas Armindo (D/F) in the HEGERSPORT-Porsche completed the podium.
The second round on Sunday that could hardly be topped in terms of suspense also saw a debut winner: Florian Stoll and Thomas Jäger in the MS RACING-Mercedes decided their first joint ADAC GT Masters race in their favour. In a duel that continued all the way up to the finish line Jäger/Stoll prevailed against the Ferrari of the Farnbacher ESET Racing team with Dominik Farnbacher and Niclas Kentenich (D/D) that was had been leading the race for a long time. Third place went to Lance-David Arnold/Andreas Zuber (D/UAE) in the HEICO-Mercedes in front of the leaders of the standings, Dino Lunardi/Alexandros Margaritis (F/GR) in the BMW ALPINA of the LIQUI MOLY team Engstler. The BMW duo extended ist overall lead.
The former leaders of the standings, Ferdinand and Johannes Stuck, remained without points in both races and came under pressure by Luca Ludwig/Christopher Mies(D/D), who are ranking in third place of the standings. The Audi duo from ABT Sportsline clinched sixth and seventh place in both races. Among the amateurs Corvette driver Sven Hannawald (D) alongside Heinz-Harald Frentzen (D) improved his chances for the title by winning one race. The East-German local heroes from NK Racing had invited about 50 guests from two social projects which the team supports. The additional finger crossing at least helped the Lamborghini duo Carsten Seifert/Michael Golz (D/D) that has been unfortunate so far to finish two races.
