ADAC GT Masters·7.3.2012

2012 ADAC GT Masters starting field is complete

A record field of 44 sports cars from 13 different brands will take part in the season opener of the "League of Super Sports Cars" at the Oscherleben Motorsport Arena from 30 March-1 April. The last two available positions on the grid have been taken by the Dutch team GB-Motorsport, who will field two BMW Z4s.

The starting places for the 2012 ADAC GT Masters season were more competitive than ever before. At the closing date for applications last week, ADAC received more than 50 entries for the maximum 44 available positions. The final starting places were awarded by ADAC to the BMW Team DB Motorsport on the grounds of diversity and fairness. The Dutch team appeared as a guest team at last season's ADAC Masters race weekend at Assen.

For the teams who were not able to be considered for the awarding of one of the limited number of starting places, a reserve list has been created. In addition, they can still be considered for guest positions at ADAC Masters weekends, depending on the capacity of the race track and existing track protocol.

The 2012 ADAC GT Masters sets new records for appeal and diversity, with 44 cars from 13 different teams. For the first time, the McLaren MP4-12C with Formula 1 technology, the US powerhouse Chevrolet Camaro and the legendary Japanese sports car Nissan GT-R will be on the ADAC GT Masters starting grid. Aston Martin are celebrating their comeback with the new V12 Vantage model. The new entries from England, Japan and the USA face competition from Audi, BMW, BMW Alpina, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
