ADAC GT Masters driver secures BMW works contract: Martin, placed fourth in the ADAC GT Masters this season, has signed for BMW

On Saturday, BMW announced the appointment of Maxime Martin as a works driver, so the 26-year-old gains a new employer for next year. It is not yet clear, however, in which series and with what particular vehicle the Belgian will be competing in 2013.

Martin impressed everyone this year with strong performances in a number of areas, including the ADAC GT Masters. Aided by 2011 champion Dino Lunardi, Martin, son of Belgian Touring Car legend Jean-Michel Martin, achieved three wins in this season's ADAC GT Masters at the wheel of the BMW Alpina B6 GT3 prepared by ALPINA and was on pole for the season opener at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and at the Nürburgring. In addition, Martin claimed victories at Monza and Silverstone to finish runner-up in the Blancpain Endurance Series, driving a BMW Z4 GT3.

Success in the ADAC GT Masters and Blancpain Endurance Series also brought Martin a decent amount of prize money in this year's BMW Sports Trophy standings. The by now five-time ADAC GT Masters race winner took second place in BMW's competition for privateers that overlaps series, winning 25,000 euros.
